On Sunday, 13 July, A.Yatseniuk, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and Petro Poroshenko, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the National Bank of Ukraine, presented a bus to the sanatorium of the Ukrainian Association of the Blind.
The ceremony was attended by the People´s Deputies of Ukraine, leaders of the Ukrainian Association of the Blind and representatives of the local authorities.
A.Yatseniuk stated: "Publicity of the said event is caused only by my willingness to appeal to all businessmen and politicians with a request to be beneficent not only to themselves and their families. If one takes up politics, one should be concerned not only with one´s surrounding, but also do serious deeds for the sake of society".
Transfer of the bus is one of the first actions of the Fund "Open Ukraine". Several months ago, the Fund also presented an exhibition of voiced photos for the visually impaired.
A.Yatseniuk expressed his gratitude to the activists of Lviv office of the Ukrainian Association of the Blind who addressed the Fund with a proposal to render relevant assistance to the visually impaired.
